How to Link National Identity Number (NIN) with your Airtel Number
All Airtel subscribers in Nigeria can now link their National Identity Number (NIN) with their Airtel mobile number without any stress.
The Federal Government of Nigeria have extended the deadline issued to all telecommunications operators in the country to block all Subscribers Identification Modules (SIMs) without National Identification Number (NIN).
All the Telecommunications network in Nigeria have already mapped USSD code for their subscribers, to easily link their National Identity Number with their mobile phone number for verification by National Identity Management Commission.

What is National Identity Number?
A national identification number, national identity number, or national insurance number is used by the governments of many countries as a means of tracking their citizens, permanent residents, and temporary residents for the purposes of work, taxation, government benefits, health care, and other governmentally-related functions.
The number appears on identity documents issued by several countries.
The ways in which such a system is implemented vary among countries, but in most cases citizens are issued an identification number upon reaching legal age, or when they are born.

Non-citizens may be issued such numbers when they enter the country, or when granted a temporary or permanent residence permit.
How to Link your National Identity Number with your Airtel Number?
- Click Airtel NG NIN Portal
- Enter your Airtel phone number, without the initial zero
- Enter the OTP sent to your Airtel phone number
- Confirm the OTP
- Enter you NIN
- Enter submit
- To submit your NIN for verification and pairing with your number immediately.
You can also dial *121*1# on your phone and insert your NIN.
When it is successful, you will get a message like this:
NIN has been submitted successfully.
Valued customer, this submission is solely for NIN collection as the validation of the submitted NIN will be done by NIMC.
In the invent that your information cannot be validated, you may be required to visit our showroom for a verification exercise. thank You.
Federal Government Extends NIN Registration and Validation
Kindly note that, the three (3) weeks extension is for subscribers with National Identity Number from 30th December, 2020 to 19th January, 2021.
While the six (6) weeks extension is for subscribers without NIN from 30th december, 2020 to 9th February, 2021.
